Dame Priti Patel wishes EHAAT a happy 25th birthday!
In a letter sent to CEO Jane Gurney congratulating the charity on reaching its 25th anniversary, MP for Witham Dame Priti Patel has paid tribute to the work being done by the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.
Having visited the air bases at Earls Colne and North Weald on a couple of occasions – the most recent being in August last year, Dame Priti has been able to talk to members of the clinical, operations and fundraising teams, and to see firsthand the vital life-saving services provided by the charity to the counties of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
In her letter Dame Priti said:
“Dear Jane, I wanted to write and extend my congratulations to you and the whole of the team as you mark the 25th birthday of the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust.
To reach such a milestone and in particular over 33,500 missions is very significant, and I know from my own visits to both sites just how important a service the air ambulance provides to those in need across Essex and Hertfordshire.
The work you and your team does is remarkable, and I hope that over the coming years, the Trust continues to go from strength to strength in delivering the work of the charity.
With all good wishes…”
The letter coincides with the start of a summer of 25th birthday celebrations. Between June and September, this milestone year for the charity will be marked with special events that are aimed at thanking everyone who is involved with and has supported the organisation over the years.
As well as team and volunteer celebration events, there will also be a ‘Thank-a-thon’ event taking place on Tuesday 11th July, when the entire team at Essex & Herts Air Ambulance will take to the phones, calling supporters just to say, ‘thank you’.
