ANDY’S STORY
On 16th May 2022, Andy Prindiville, Head Teacher of St Gregory’s Catholic Science College in Brent, began his journey via the tube to a work conference in London when he suddenly collapsed, suffering injuries to his nose and eye. Little did he know, this bizarre experience would soon be followed by an even more shocking, life-threatening incident that would shake him to his core and profoundly impact his loved ones.

Meet 76-year-old Brian Smith from Witham, who recently became the lucky winner of our Spring Raffle. Having been a devoted Flight for Life Lottery player since 1999, Brian has shown unwavering support by purchasing many raffle and lottery tickets through the years. Brian couldn’t believe his ears when our Lottery Manager, Carmel Hudson, called to deliver the incredible news. He had jokingly told his wife, Pauline, that he had thrown the tickets away, never expecting to win.
“I couldn’t believe I had won. I have supported EHAAT for many years, and we often see it fly over our house on its way to an emergency; we hope we will never need their services.”
We were thrilled to welcome Brian and his wife Pauline to our Earls Colne airbase recently and hand over his winning cheque. One of our volunteers, Ken Read, gave them a tour of our Visitor Centre, and they met Gaynor Wareham, our Clinical Services Manager, who thanked them for their support. When asked what he would do with his win, he said he would treat his family, especially his grandchildren!
