Registration is now open for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance’s annual Heli Hounds Dog Walk in Earls Colne.

The 2018 event will take place on Sunday 4th March, and will start from the Charity’s Head Office in Earls Colne, taking in the delightful spring sights of neighbouring woodland and the glorious gardens of Marks Hall.

This year’s event saw 300 pooches take on the scenic 5km route – which included a stroll through the stunning gardens of nearby Marks Hall – and raised over £7,000 for the Charity. The event also saw the Charity choose their poster dog for this year’s event, Daisy the spaniel.

As a Charity with no National Lottery or Government funding, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance is reliant on the generosity of the public and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational. With each mission costing the Air Ambulance £2,500 on average, 2017’s event would have funded almost three potentially life-saving missions. This would ensure that one of the Charity’s two airbases could have operated for a full day, just from some four-legged friends getting together for a few hours!

This close to Christmas, we’re asking for your favourite festive pictures of your furry friends. Are they happiest in a Santa hat? Have you convinced them to pull a sleigh? Could they give Rudolph a run for their money? To enter this competition and win a doggy stocking, simply find ‘Essex & Herts Air Ambulance’ on Facebook and enter before the 14th December!

Tickets for the walk cost just £5 in advance, with it going up to £7.50 for those who pay on the day. To book your pup’s place visit www.ehaat.org or call the Events Team on 0345 2417 690.
