Location: Southwest Portugal, from the Algarve coast to Cape St Vincent.

Terrain: Expect uneven paths, exposed cliff-top trails, inland tracks and plenty of rewarding climbs along the way.

Fundraising target: £3,250 per person

Trek to Cape St Vincent, the legendary “End of the World”, and help raise vital funds to keep our helicopters flying for patients across Essex and Hertfordshire.

Day 1: London – Faro – Aljezur

Depart London for Faro before transferring to Aljezur, a historic town close to Portugal’s west coast. After checking into the hotel, there may be time to explore before meeting the group for dinner and a full trip briefing.

Day 2: Aljezur – Arrifana

The first day of trekking begins inland before joining the famous Fishermen’s Way towards the coast. Expect river valley views, golden beaches, rugged coastal paths and the dramatic headland of Ponta da Atalaia.
Trek: approx. 5–6 hours / 20km

Day 3: Arrifana – Carrapateira

A challenging but spectacular day along craggy cliffs, rugged hills and farmland trails. Look out for Needle Rock rising from the sea before finishing near the dunes and wild waves of Bordeira.
Trek: approx. 6–7 hours / 24km

Day 4: Carrapateira – Vila do Bispo

Continue south through changing landscapes, from rocky coves and fishing villages to open inland plateau. The route includes steep hills, hidden ravines and windswept terrain before reaching Vila do Bispo.
Trek: approx. 6–7 hours / 22km

Day 5: Vila do Bispo – Cape St Vincent – Sagres

The final day of trekking leads towards Cape St Vincent, the most southwesterly point of mainland Europe and once believed to be the “end of the world”. After taking in the views, continue on to Sagres to celebrate completing the challenge.
Trek: approx. 5–6 hours / 19km

Day 6: Sagres – Faro – London

Transfer back to Faro for the flight home to London, with time to reflect on an unforgettable adventure along Portugal’s wild Atlantic coastline.
