Small paws make a big difference at Stevenage Charity dog walk
16 October 2017
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance’s annual Heli Hounds walk took place in Fairlands Valley Park on Sunday.
Yesterday Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) hosted their third Hertfordshire-based Heli Hounds dog walk, which saw over 100 dogs and their owners joining in for a good cause!
The walk was led by the semi-finalists of the Charity’s Heli Hound Hero competition, determining which dog would the face of their 2018 Hertfordshire walk. In the end, it was husky Tikaani, who was crowned the Heli Hound Hero. Tikaani celebrated his birthday on Sunday and has attended four Heli Hounds walks with owner Paul across Essex and Hertfordshire over the past few years.
Jen Wall, Volunteer and Events Manager, said: “It was a lovely day for an autumn dog walk! Seeing so many dogs in one place and walking for the Charity was a wonderful experience. A lot of dog owners were making friends and everyone was in high spirits, despite the lack of sunshine.
Thank you to everyone who attended, every dog who proudly wore their Heli Hounds bandana, and of course to Tikaani, our Heli Hound Hero!”
Funds are still being counted, but any money raised in sponsorship and entry fees will go towards keeping the Charity and its service operational. For more information about Essex & Herts Air Ambulance please visit www.ehaat.org.
