Patient and Family Liaison

At Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, we understand that sudden injuries and illnesses affect all involved. Whether a patient, family member or friend, you may have questions, concerns or need extra help. Our patient liaison team will work sensitively to provide the aftercare you need.

Filling in the gaps

Experiencing sudden injuries and illnesses can be distressing. It’s very common to suffer from memory blanks between the incident occurring and being in the hospital. We can help you piece together the bigger picture with a complete and accurate understanding of what happened.

Whether we’re reuniting the critical care team, emergency services and bystanders from the scene, arranging airbase visits or following up with telephone calls to keep you informed, we are committed to ensuring every patient and their family feels supported and cared for. Whether you need information or just someone to talk to, we’re here to help.

Patient Involvement Forum

We set up a Patient Involvement Forum at EHAAT, comprising former patients and their family members. Together, they provide invaluable advice on our research projects to ensure we address issues that are important to patients, whose perspectives are represented in every stage of the research.

EHAAT is passionate about involving patients, their family members and the wider public in our research to ensure that it is relevant, acceptable and reflects the priorities of patients and their families. We are looking to expand this group, so if you are interested in finding out more, please contact our Patient Liaison Team at patientliaison@ehaat.org for further details.

Further Support

At this stage it might not be our help you need the most. We understand that finding the on-going support for you can be challenging. Our close links with local injury and illness-specific support organisations means we can point you in the right direction during these difficult times.
