Brew for the Crew

Brew for the Crew, formerly known as A Very British Afternoon Tea or AVBAT, has been reimagined as a corporate fundraising initiative. By hosting your in-work Brew for the Crew, you’ll be doing your bit towards keeping your local air ambulance operational.

Brew for the Crew

Host a Brew for the Crew at your workplace and raise vital funds for your local life-saving charity!

As a charity, we rely on the generosity and goodwill of the people of Essex and Hertfordshire, due to limited government funding.

By hosting your in-work Brew for the Crew, you’ll be doing your bit towards keeping your air ambulance operational, and allowing us to continue saving lives, reduce or prevent disability, and suffering from critical illness and injury.

At EHAAT HQ, we are partial to a slice of cake (or two!) and what’s better than to enjoy a little time away from the computer screen, construction site or wherever your workplace happens to be and spending some time with your colleagues over a hot brew?

“As an ambassador for this incredible charity and a fan of a good cuppa I am delighted to be supporting ‘Brew for the Crew’ this year. We all know how important it is to take a break during the day, to regroup and recharge.”

Lisa Snowdon, Celebrity Ambassador

Boost your potential!

Here are a few ideas that might help generate further £££:

  • Set up a Just Giving page (and ask us to link a QR code for you) to make it even easier to donate – no more excuses of not having change
  • Ask your employer if they will kindly match-fund what is raised, making your total double the size
  • Organise a quick-fire Brew for the Crew quiz as entertainment (keep it food or Essex & Herts Air Ambulance focused) for an additional entry fee
  • Show us how ‘Prue’ you can be and encourage your event to become a Bake Off

Our team at EHAAT are here to support you every step of the way, so please do get in touch!

AVBAT 2022 Competition Winner Katie Lee hugs Critical Care Paramedic Gaynor Wareham

“What a wonderful day we had at the North Weald Airbase I have the biggest smile on my face just thinking about it. We had an afternoon tea in my parents garden to raise as much money as we could for this amazing cause and for everything they have done for us personally. We didn’t even know there was a competition and so to win and be invited to come visit the base was such a lovely surprise!

But the best surprise of all, was I actually met, hugged, cried and laughed with the people who had helped me on the day of my horrific car accident. To look into the eyes and say thank you to Gaynor and Will who had helped me on the day of my accident was a moment I will never forget.

I wouldn’t be here without them and I am forever grateful, and to the whole team, what they do is just incredible. I felt a bit nervous to go and visit. I went along with my mum and dad, there was no need for the nerves, everyone was so lovely. All the people from EHAAT, the other competition winners OPRA and from the English Cream Tea Company, we all sat and chatted over the yummiest afternoon tea. The whole day was just so special to us. Thank you thank you thank you”
