Vote for EHAAT in the Smiley Charity Film Awards

We’re proud to share that Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) has been named a finalist in the prestigious Smiley Charity Film Awards for our first ever bereavement-focused patient film, Navigating Grief after Sudden and Traumatic Loss.

Now we need your support to help us win the People’s Choice Award. The Grand Prix winner will win £10,000 and category winners will receive £3,000. These funds would help us to further our vital work to support patients and families at the worse time of their lives.

While EHAAT’s core mission is to deliver life-saving pre-hospital emergency care, the charity’s commitment to patients and their families continues long after an incident. Through years of supporting bereaved families, EHAAT has identified a common experience of deep isolation among those grieving sudden and traumatic loss, with many feeling that few people truly understand what they are going through.

“As a charity dedicated to saving lives, we understand that our responsibility doesn’t end with the immediate care we provide at the scene,” said  Alice Kershberg, Lead for Patient and Family Liaison. “This film reflects our commitment to supporting families who experience the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one. We hope it will serve as a source of comfort and connection for those navigating the complexities of grief.”

EHAAT created Navigating Grief after Sudden and Traumatic Loss, to provide support to individuals coping with bereavement. Featuring the personal stories of two families who have experienced unexpected loss, the film highlights the emotional realities of grief and the importance of compassionate support. Available on our website, it aims to provide comfort, understanding and a sense of connection for anyone navigating the complex journey of grief.
