Volunteer Emergency Responders – Applications Now Open

This Volunteer Week, we are launching an exciting new opportunity to join our Volunteer Emergency Responder team, working in partnership with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

This programme brings together NHS and charity expertise to strengthen emergency response and deliver lifesaving care when it matters most.

About the role

As a Volunteer Emergency Responder, you will:

• Respond to emergency and urgent calls within your community
• Provide high-quality pre-hospital care
• Work alongside ambulance services and other emergency services
• Support improved outcomes for critically unwell patients

Why this matters

Emergency Responders play a key role in supporting ambulance services by providing rapid care at time-critical incidents, helping to improve patient outcomes.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking individuals with relevant clinical or responder experience who are:

• Confident in high-pressure situations
• Strong team players
• Committed to delivering patient-centred care
• Support community and charity activity, including events and public engagement

Commitment

• Minimum 20 hours per month operational response
• Ongoing participation in training and development
• Support for community engagement activities

Interest applicants will need to be available on the following dates

• 22^nd or 27^th June for Part 1 interview at our Northweald Airbase
• 6^th or 11^th July for Part 2 interview at our Northweald Airbase
• 2^nd and 10^th September for successful candidates to complete induction and training
