The Maldon Grinch Joins EHAAT in in kicking off festive fundraising

Dressed up in a festive jumper and bringing an early bit of “Ho ho ho!” to the proceedings, The Maldon Grinch joined Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) to help launch their festive fundraising campaign for this year.

Last year the charity attended 210 missions and provided its vital life-saving service 24/7 throughout the festive season. So, Santa won’t be the only one flying this Christmas and to help them maintain their helicopter emergency medical service for the critically ill and injured of Essex, Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas, EHAAT is asking the public to join in with festive fundraising this year.

There are lots of ways for people of all ages to fundraise for this worthy cause while having fun. They include:

The ‘Festive Pyjama Challenge’ where EHAAT is asking you to think up a challenge that you can do in your festive PJs; something that will encourage family and friends to sponsor you to help raise vital funds for the charity. For instance you could go festive food shopping in your reindeer onesie or encourage the family to a one mile run in your matching pjs, the opportunities are endless. The idea is to have fun taking part and you can sign up via EHAAT’s Just Giving page.

Continuing the pyjama theme, ‘Wear your Festive PJs to Work Week’, encourages new and existing corporate supporters to gather their staff together and all wear their festive pjs during the week of 5th to 9th of December. So, whether based in an office or working from home, all EHAAT asks is that you share photos of your festive set up and make a £2 donation to EHAAT for each person taking part. And if you really want to get into the festive mood and donate a bit more, for an extra £2 donation, people are being asked to ‘Deck Your Desk’.

Emma Barker, Head of Income Generation at EHAAT, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all those who are supporting us this year and we are appealing to the local community to help us in any way they can this Christmas. Apart from what’s mentioned above, there are many ways you can get involved to raise vital funds. You can Illuminate your home with lights and decorations, host festive fundraisers like mince pie mornings, Christmas jumper days, craft sales and carol singing, or buy tickets for our Winter Raffle. You can also purchase gift wrapping, Christmas cards, branded notepads and socks – a seasonal favourite, from our online shop at www.ehaat.org.

“Our committed team remain dedicated, ready, and able, to save lives when someone is having the worst day of their life – even on Christmas Day. That’s why we need support from people and businesses this festive season. It all helps to keep us operational, and our fundraising elves are ready and waiting to hear from you to help your fundraising take off!”
