Local businesses step up to ‘Brew for the Crew’ in aid of EHAAT

Since Celebrity Ambassador Lisa Snowdon joined the team at Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT), and officially launched the charity’s ‘Brew for the Crew’, numerous local businesses have been busy holding their own in-work fundraising events.

The corporate fundraising initiative, which kicked off in April and runs through to the end of the year, encourages willing organisations to arrange their own ‘Brew for the Crew’ event which, as well as providing a warm and friendly atmosphere for people to partake in tea, coffee, cakes and fundraising, also offers a chance for staff to enjoy some important social and wellbeing time.

Hertfordshire organisations taking part have included Insurance agency, NFU Mutual, based in Buntingford, and Letchworth-based Safety First Aid Group, who went that extra mile doubling the amount raised by their staff.

Other companies joining in have included: multidisciplinary agency, KGK Genix, who sponsor EHAAT’s Primary Schools Initiative and has offices in Thundridge and Harlow; sponsors of the ‘Brew for the Crew’ campaign, Phase 2 Planning based in Great Notley and Milbank Concrete Products, one of EHAAT’s neighbours at Earls Colne Business Park.

Millbank Concrete Products’ ‘Brew for the Crew’ event saw over 50 staff members joining in and Ashley Perkins, Group Marketing Manager, was delighted with the response. He said: “We are exceptionally proud to be an official sponsor for this campaign. As a charity, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance relies on the community and businesses like ours to ensure they have enough funding to do what they do best…save lives! With their base just a stone’s throw from our HQ, it made complete sense for us to do what we can to support such an important charity.”

Matthew Wood, Director at Phase 2 Planning, said: “Partnering with EHAAT was a no-brainer. Not only do we get to contribute to their life-saving work, but we’ve also had the ability to re-engage with our local community through a great fundraising initiative.”

Lisa Snowdon is delighted that local businesses are getting involved. She said: “As an Ambassador for this incredible charity and a fan of a good cuppa, I am delighted to be supporting ‘Brew for the Crew’.

“We all know how important it is to take a break during the day, to regroup and recharge. I know how crucial it is to have a sense of community, of friendship and being able to sit down and talk at work to decompress, to laugh, to cry, to express whatever it is that you’re feeling is a very integral part of the day.”

With many other events planned throughout the summer and running through to the end of the year, the additional icing on the cake is that for all organisations taking part, there will also be a competition – kindly sponsored by The English Cream Tea Co – with the highest fundraisers winning their very own brew with the EHAAT crew in Spring 2024 at its North Weald airbase.
