Introducing the GlideScope Go 2: Transforming Airway Management in Pre-Hospital Emergency Care

SHARE

Essex and Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) has introduced the GlideScope Go 2 video laryngoscope to our critical care service.

Compact, Reliable, and Patient-Focused

The GlideScope Go 2 combines compact design with cutting-edge technology, making it a powerful addition to the tools available to our clinicians.

Our team has been impressed with its design and functionality. Clinicians noted the device’s ease of use, intuitive handling, and high-quality visuals. During a training session, one team member remarked:

“Honestly, I was really impressed. I didn’t know how it would feel in my hand. It feels like a normal blade that I’m used to. The screen was really, really good quality. When I put it in, I got a view straight away. It felt like a bit of a cheat!”

Enhancing Patient Care and Safety

At EHAAT, our mission is to deliver 24/7 critical care coverage through our helicopter and rapid response vehicle services. This clinical development aligns with our commitment to continuous improvement, especially as a service that provides pre-hospital anaesthetics regularly.

The decision to adopt the GlideScope Go 2 followed a comprehensive evaluation process, including an options appraisal of available equipment. The feedback from our clinical team has been overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming that the GlideScope Go 2 is the right choice for our service.

Tony Joy, EHAAT Medical Director, explains “At EHAAT, we’re all about improving what we do and benefiting the patient. So anything we can use to do that, is really great for us, and that’s what we’ve been looking for. This equipment does that absolutely.”

EHAAT is committed to continuously improving the services we offer to patients. The addition of the GlideScope Go 2 to our toolkit exemplifies this commitment. We are already seeing the impact this technology has on patient care and outcomes.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to innovate and provide first-class pre-hospital emergency care for those who need it most.
