Essex & Herts Air Ambulance has announced the appointment of Michelle Tennens as a new Trustee to its Board.

Michelle Tennens is a Chartered Marketer and Company Director. She is the founder of redPepper Marketing, a full service marketing agency in Earls Colne, Essex, working with a wide range of businesses across the region. She specialises in marketing strategy and works with company owners and directors to energise and propel their businesses. Michelle was the first woman to join the Board of Directors at Suffolk Building Society and served as their Senior Independent Director for 12 years. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys dog walking, gardening, drumming and dancing.

Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the charity to help achieve the many exciting and ambitious goals it has for the future. She joins the Chair of Trustees, Jonathan Trower, and EHAAT’s eight other trustees; all of whom have been selected for their individual skills and experience including clinical, legal, financial, safety & training, along with one Trustee who has personal experience of the service.

The Trustee role is a voluntary one, but crucially important in overseeing the strategic direction of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. They are legally responsible for the charity, ensuring it is administered effectively, and is accountable for its activities and outcomes. In addition, Trustees support the executive team, taking responsibility for protecting its long-term stability, by ensuring there are adequate financial reserves.

Jane Gurney, CEO of EHAAT is delighted to welcome Michelle and said:

“We are looking forward to working with Michelle as we continue to grow the charity, I know that her knowledge and experience will certainly contribute towards our strategic thinking and planning going forward. I am very thankful for the work that all the Trustees do for us, and the invaluable input they provide to enable us to continue to deliver first class pre-hospital care to the people of Essex, Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. By giving up their time, as volunteers, the Charity benefits hugely from their collective knowledge and skills; giving myself and the executive team valuable support and counsel.”
