We’re proud to announce that our film Navigating Grief after Sudden and Traumatic Loss has been named the People’s Choice Winner in our category at the Smiley Charity Film Awards 2026!
This #DyingMattersWeek we’re reminded of just how vital it is to open up about conversations about grief, loss and the impact of sudden bereavement. Our film does exactly that and the response form our supporters has been overwhelming.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted for us. Winning the People’s Choice Award means that these conversations matter.
We are particularly grateful to the two families who bravely shared their experiences, and in doing so show us just how overwhelming grief after sudden and traumatic loss can be, and remind other that they are not alone in feeling that way.

The £3,000 prize fund will go directly towards supporting our patients and families.
“As a charity dedicated to saving lives, we understand that our responsibility doesn’t end with the immediate care we provide at the scene,” said Alice Kershberg, Lead for Patient and Family Liaison. “This film reflects our commitment to supporting families who experience the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one. We hope it will serve as a source of comfort and connection for those navigating the complexities of grief.”
