Pupils from Goffs Academy in Cheshunt who voted to select Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) as the school’s Charity of the Year have so far raised £3,684 to support the Charity’s work.

Ellie Myers, Drama teacher and Director of the House System in charge of charitable activities at Goffs said, “We have had tremendous amounts of fun fundraising for EHAAT this year and raised money in a variety of ways. Our events have ranged from a Halloween disco and horror maze to selling and sending candy canes around the school at Christmas.”

“We had the pleasure of welcoming Jeannie Philip from EHAAT to deliver assemblies to our students on the fantastic live-saving work they do. Reflecting on these assemblies the students were shocked to find out the average cost to complete one mission is as much as £2,500. It is extremely clear to us here at Goffs Academy how crucial donations from people like us are to supporting the Charity.”

Jeannie Phillip, Fundraising Co-ordinator at EHAAT said, “This is an amazing effort by the students at Goffs, and it was great to have the opportunity to speak to them about the life-saving work of the Charity’s Critical Care teams. I am thrilled they understand how much we rely on support like this to remain operational and very grateful for their support.”

“If any other schools are considering doing some charity fundraising, we would love to hear from them.”
