Celebrating February’s Success: Curry & Casino
This month saw the start of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance’s (EHAAT) calendar of events. We kick-started the year with the BRAND NEW Curry & Casino event. Guests enjoyed a night filled with fun, food and funky music at the Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club. With a curry buffet to satisfy the guests hunger, the night then led to a game of heads and tails with Critical Care Paramedics Laurie Phillipson and Tony Stone.
Bringing it back to what the night was all about, funding our life-saving service, was Steve Barker. Steve is a former airlifted patient of EHAAT, having had a cycling incident in 2016, suffering severe head injuries. You could hear a pin drop as Steve was sharing his story, a privilege for everyone in the room. People were exposed to the reality of how important time can be in the event of a critical incident and how important the air ambulance is.
The combination of ticket sales, a balloon raffle and all other donations made on the night resulted in over £2,500 being raised for the Charity. This is enough to fund one life-saving mission, making all the difference to patients like Steve. A huge thank you to everyone who attended. Additionally, thank you to all those that donated prizes, Teresa who donated the photo booth, to Tiptree and Fortnum & Mason for providing the hampers and Cordell Maintenance Services for sponsoring the event.
If you are interested in taking part in our events then take a look at what’s coming up on EHAAT’s calendar. Search online to see how you can support your local life-saving charity. There is something for everyone to enjoy whilst doing your bit to keep your local air ambulance operational.
We hope to see you soon!
