St Mary’s Church in Ware was aglow with festive spirit as it hosted a magical charity carol concert in support of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT). Held on December 5th, the event drew an incredible crowd and raised over £30,000 to help fund the charity’s life-saving work.
The evening’s programme featured a beautiful selection of traditional carols and festive music, accompanied by inspiring readings from notable guests, including renowned actor and Hertfordshire resident, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss CBE CStJ, and EHAAT Chairman Jonathan Trower.
EHAAT’s Clinical Lead, Dr. Gareth Grier, delivered a moving appeal, sharing insights into the charity’s critical emergency medical service and the difference it makes to patients and their families every day.
Guests were treated to the enchanting ambiance of a candlelit church, complemented by the beautiful singing of the choir. The concert was preceded by a Sparkling Reception, generously sponsored by Newsells Park Winery, adding a special touch to the evening’s festivities.
The event was not only a celebration of the season but also a vital opportunity to raise awareness of EHAAT’s essential helicopter emergency medical service, which relies entirely on charitable donations to operate.
Jonathan Ager, Deputy CEO of EHAAT, expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the concert’s success. “We are truly overwhelmed by the generosity and support of our Hertfordshire community,” he said. “Special thanks go to organisers Michelle Perkins, Belinda Chambers, and their wonderful committee for making this event such a triumph. The funds raised will have a profound impact on our ability to continue delivering our life-saving service across the region.”
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance is grateful for the unwavering support of its community, ensuring it can be there for those in need, whenever and wherever they need it most.
