Can your pup strike a pose this Christmas for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance?
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance need your favourite festive picture of your pooch – all to win a doggy stocking in time for Christmas!
Whether your terrier loves a good bit of tinsel, or your spaniel wears a Santa hat like a crown, you could be in with a chance of winning the Charity’s Christmas competition if you enter before 14th December.
The top five entries will be shortlisted by staff, and the final winner will be chosen by Staff and Air Crew at the Charity’s Christmas Staff meeting next week.
Registrations are now also open for their annual Heli Hounds Dog Walk, which takes place on Sunday 4th March 2018. From the Charity’s Head Office in Earls Colne, hundreds of dogs will see the delightful spring sights of neighbouring woodland and the glorious gardens of Marks Hall. Tickets cost just £5 in advance, and if you pre-register you’ll get a free doggy bandana for your pooch!
This year’s event saw 300 pooches take on the scenic 5km route – which included a stroll through the stunning gardens of nearby Marks Hall – and raised over £7,000 for the Charity. The event also saw the Charity choose their poster dog for this year’s event, Daisy the spaniel.
As a Charity with no National Lottery or Government funding, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance is reliant on the generosity of the public and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational. With each mission costing the Air Ambulance £2,500 on average, 2017’s event would have funded almost three potentially life-saving missions. This would ensure that one of the Charity’s two airbases could have operated for a full day, just from some four-legged friends getting together for a few hours!
