Super fit cyclists can get ready for a brand new challenge at this year’s 10th Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Colne Valley Cycle Ride on 29th April.

A new 80 mile route, featuring a section of the Tour de France route, has been introduced alongside the regular 50 mile, 20 mile and three mile route, which all start at the Cricket Pitch at Earls Colne Business Park.

The new course will split from the 50 mile route at Great Yeldham and take cyclists towards the picturesque the village of Finchingfield, before re-joining the 50 mile route at Halstead.

The family-friendly event is a great way to enjoy the rolling hills of the Essex countryside while raising vital funds for your life-saving Charity.

Jen Wall, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Events Manager, said: “Our annual cycle ride is a fantastic way to get together with friends and family in the sunshine and enjoy the fresh air. Now, with a brand new route in the mix, cyclists can see how far they can go. But cyclists must beware – it’s not for the faint-hearted! We want our supporters back safe and sound.

“There is a route for everyone so come along and join us. Registration is now open. We look forward to seeing you there!”

Registration for the event is now open. Early bird tickets for all routes cost £17 and are available until Sunday 22nd April. There are separate options for teams of up to 5 cyclists and we have introduced a sponsored registration ticket which means there is no need to raise additional sponsorship. Ticket prices on the day are £20. Up to three under 14s go free when with a full paying adult.

Registration on the day opens at 7.30am for the 80, 50 and 20 mile routes, with the ride starting at 8am, 8.30am and 9am. The registration for the family ride opens at 9am, with the cyclists setting off at 9.30am.

The Colne Valley Cycle Ride is being sponsored by MDS Civil Engineering Ltd.
