Visitor Centres
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance have a Visitor Centre at both our airbases at Earls Colne and North Weald. Whether you are an individual interested in our work or a group looking at fundraising opportunities we have something for everyone, and we look forward to welcoming you.
Immerse yourself in our exciting 999 Experience, you might want to put on a helmet and sit in the pilot’s seat! (North Weald only) Listen to interesting facts and a wealth of background and operational information provided by our volunteer hosts. Play our interactive game and test your knowledge with the quiz.
Our Visitor Centres are at ground level and we have accessible parking and accessible toilets.
Our Visitor Centre Experience is friendly and fun
You will be offered a drink and a chance to see the helicopter (operations allowing). The Visitor Centre Experience, which must be booked in advance, are free of charge. However, you will learn about the many ways in which you can help the charity raise vital funds.
Whilst our Public Visitor Centre Experience is aimed at an adult audience children are welcome with their parents/carers. We can accommodate up to 20 people in the Visitor Centre.
Our bespoke Visitor Centre Experience is available for groups of 10 or more people can be arranged for a time to suit you. A children’s Visitor Centre Experience can be arranged for groups of children with their responsible adults.

Book your own Visitor Centre Experience
We offer bespoke Visitor Centre Experience to groups of 10-20 people at a date and time to suit you. Please use the form below if you are a business, school, club, social group or larger family or friendship group wanting a private Visitor Centre Experience. Don’t forget to add your preferred date and time and allow 4 weeks arrangement time. You will receive a response within a week to let you know if your date and time is possible.
Please note: our bespoke Children’s Visitor Centre Experience is not suitable for children under the age of 6 years old. As this is a learning experience please be aware that we are unable to accommodate birthday parties.
